Space Exploration Science Grants Program
The Space Exploration Science Grants Program will award funding support to scientists seeking to accelerate innovative ideas in high-impact scientific research, education, and innovation.
This year’s call continues to focuse on space exploration for the benefit of humanity. The program encourages research across various space-related sectors, particularly in areas such as Astrobiology and the Origins of Life, Exoplanet Science and Habitability, Advanced Space Observation Technologies, and Fundamental Cosmology and Theoretical Physics. We aim to act as a co-funder, rather
than the primary or sole financial supporter of a project.
Recognizing that complex grant applications can divert researchers’ time away from meaningful work, the CHiwi Foundation offers a streamlined application and decision process:
🌑 Launch on May 15th, 2026
🌒 Application period: May 15 – September 15, 23:00 CET
🌓 Evaluation period: September 15 – November 15
🌔 Decision period: November 15 – end of the year
🌕 Funding period: early 2027
